Geriatric Jungle Trek day 4
October 15, 2025
We four senior ladies are looking forward to our big adventure in Costa Rica in November. The group consists of 3 octogenarian sisters, Joy, Charlene, and Patsy and their "younger" cousin Katherine. The stated purpose was to take a birding trip, but not all of the group are dedicated "birders." Katherine's son has dubbed the trip the "Geriatric Jungle Trek." Katherine gave us an exciting report this morning. It seems that the first stop on our itinerary (Rancho Naturalista) recorded 194 species of birds on the October Global Big Day this month. Big Day is the time once or twice a year when birders all count the number of different bird species they can record in 24 hours. Our first lodging location came in second in all of Costa Rica this year.
The blog has been too difficult to maintain by phone for several reasons. No internet in or rooms, days spent traveling, birding, and eating delicious meals. Then when I had internet, good old Go option my blog page into Spanish. To recover eng!ish I did something that Google thought was suspicious so Mr. AI turned off my access for 48 hours. The result is no blog. I guess we will discontinue blog and send some pictures via email. All is well and we are having a Wonderful time.
